Dr. Heidi Cramm (Associate Director, Fire, Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research & Treatment) will be presenting, “Canadian Research on Firefighter Health: The State of the Nation”, at Fire-Rescue Canada in Ottawa on September 17th.

Canadian research on firefighter health and well-being has been increasing recently, exploring musculoskeletal injuries, occupational exposures, mental health, and resilience. The Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research & Treatment (CIPSRT) is working to harness the national capacity for research to improve the lives of firefighters and their families. CIPSRT initiatives will be described, including the Deparment of National Defense Road 2 Mental Readiness master trainer collaboration. Opportunities to enhance research readiness in the Canadian fire service will also be explored.
