New FIREWELL Report: Firefighter Injuries Relative to Fire Response Characteristics

A research report by FIREWELL Researchers, Dr. Kathryn Sinden (Lakehead University) and Dr. Joy MacDermid (Western University) that used data from the National Fire Incident Database (NFID) to identify the types of injuries experienced by full-time Canadian firefighters (2005-2014) and determine if personal attributes (height, weight, years of service) and fire response characteristics (crew size, use of personal protective equipment) are related to injury severity.

This study was funded by The Council of Canadian Fire Marshals & Fire Commissioners and The Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs.
