FIREWELL Director, Dr. Joy MacDermid (Western University), was awarded a CIHR Foundation grant for her research program: Innovations in Assessment and Management of Musculoskeletal Injury, Pain and Arthritis.
This program will engage patients, firefighters, health care providers, engineers and scientists to co-create and test new interventions for bone and joint problems. One of the research projects will involve co-developing and testing a treatment program for firefighters with shoulder pain.
