The IAFF is tentatively planning to conduct a fifth edition of the Canadian Political Training Academy (CPTA) during the week of November 13, 2017, based on member interest and availability.
Based on the IAFF’s highly successful U.S. Political Training Academy, which has trained hundreds of professional fire fighters, the CPTA delivers advanced political training free to Canadian IAFF members who aspire to seek elected office or fill senior campaign roles or other political positions.
Local affiliates that have members who are politically active and who would benefit from advanced political training are welcome to contact the IAFF Canadian Office to express interest and advise how many members would apply to the CPTA.
